Chinese parents in Cupertino usually send their kids to Chinese-language schools because they think that the classes for white kids and non-Chinese (in English) are dumbed down and will not help their kids to be competitive when they grow up.

I've worked in a CA public school nearly 20 years and, believe what you wish, but most--if not nearly all of us--would be as shocked as any of you that a colleague would do such a thing. Out of about 300,000 public school teachers in the state, far more are good apples.
