Five years ago, the media launched a campaign to define conservatives as "racists and white supremacists." Five days ago, they changed the terms to "seditionists and domestic terrorists." The first is to dehumanize the opposition; the second is to justify their repression.

Fair point, but I'm very skeptical that the definition will matter for the left. They are going to overreach regardless. Perhaps they will be more effective with terrorist/coup language? I don't know. I'll have to contemplate.

If it was a coup, it would have gone differently/they would have done something much more serious than live stream and take selfies. The media has had a lot of fun with pointing out they had no plan after they entered being selfies. Why? Because it wasnt a coup attempt.

We've all seen the videos... there was hardly any security at that event. So how was it stopped when the on-the-ground security was so paltry? Because it wasnt a coup attempt.

In no regard does "coup" apply here. Disruptive? Yes. Illegal? Yes. Bad? Yes. Violent? Yes. But they didn't even have a coherent plan to stop what would have been their main target (certification of a vote, which could have happened again later anyway). It's not even close.

My own opinion remains that every single person in the United States who participated in riotous activity, say in the last 12-24 months (if we want limitations) should be prosecuted appropriately under the law, regardless of political affiliation or rationale.

You keep throwing in the Q shaman, but there were thousands of people there. It wasn't a coup since it didn't have armed forces support, but it was definitely seditious and domestic terrorism. Tie wrap guys & the others were chanting to hang VP and they were looking for Pelosi.
