Genuine questions: doesn't having a monopoly position change that calculation? Can the power company or AT&T cut your service because you attended the wrong protest? And isn't the threat to speech an externality (like pollution) that justifies some intervention?

BIG Difference: AT&T was a "coercive monopoly" that was legally protected from competition by government force. FB, Twitter, etc. are NOT "coercive monopolies" & have NO legal protection from competition. I hate private "monopolies" but I hate government monopoly/force even more!

They aren't? Isn't the massive regulatory burden lobbied for by these companies essentially crony capitalism? They literally all just collaborated to knock Parler off the web.
