Yesterday: the conservative intelligentsia immediately condemned political violence. All of 2020: the liberal intelligentsia justified, rationalized, and even celebrated political violence—for months.

Giuliani called for "trial by combat" hours before the violence ensued. Donald Trump said that if he shot someone he'd probably get away with it & has repeatedly dehumanized his enemies; Conservatives have been playing games for a long time. Take responsibility & own up to it.
Trump, Giuliani, and Lin Wood should absolutely be held accountable for their reckless and dangerous rhetoric in the past two months—as should Kamala Harris, The Squad, and others for their own cheering on of violence last year.

Exactly. We have to take into consideration specific actors in this situation. It's not good enough to paint either side with a broad brush; there are specific people from both ends of the political spectrum who have participated in rank hypocrisy.
