Much like there is a lack of accountability among the MSM (see: Iraqi WMDs or Trump-Russia), they just go with the flow. Most have ready built-in audiences that have their priors confirmed by these types. Roll with the punches, ignore your own failures, plod along.

But without 24/7 Trump headlines, I imagine they will be unable to hook into the energy of the news cycle.
