It's not a housing problem. Virtually all of the people living in tents are unemployed and have serious mental illness and/or serious drug dependencies. The rent isn't the key problem.

Not only is rent not the key problem, they refuse to live in subsidized homing. Just the same way they prefer cash over food. This is life.

People can't seem to grasp that if you allow open drug use & sales, as well as a policy of no arrests, you will draw in more of the drug addicted & mentally ill. The new ideas about buying up hotels for the homeless will bring in even more of the drug addicted & mentally ill.
