San Francisco's leaders have doubled-down on irrational and destructive policies—and now celebrate the departure of tech companies. They should remember: Detroit was the richest city in the world in 1950, and the poorest city in America by 2000. Nothing is guaranteed.

And Detroit had manufacturing infrastructure! And people actually building things. SF has neither. It is all portable. Except Stanford and Cal - in theory
