For years it has frustrated me when ppl leave comments on my blog asking critical questions that would have been answered had they followed the links. Not till I started my Substack newsletter did I have data on how many ppl open links. Almost none! Srsly, mostly 2-3% at best.
What's your open rate? Mine is usually 25-30%, not sure if that's good or bad!

I don't know about on my blog, but it's very low on my Substack. Thing is, you usually link to provocative primary documents; your blog posts serve as introductions to those docs. I usually link to outside pieces in a "show your work" way. I'm not offended, just curious.
