Do these kind of ideas have much support among the citizens of Seattle? The evidence suggests that at least some of them may. For example, a recent poll found that 53% of Seattle voters support *permanently* cutting the Seattle police budget by half .
Sadly, the public seems to support the activist agenda as a matter of principle. I think it will change only when they *experience* the activist agenda in the form of consequences.

The college educated and middle class support this nonsense because they will not endure the consequences of it, unlike the poorest people. Also, not supporting these policies means ostracism and being equated to a monster at best, or Hitler at worst.
Based on 50 Laboratories of our federalist system we should wish Washington & Oregon well as they try to recycle past failed policies while we take notes & share the results. 
This has exactly been my position: Let them try this stuff, and let's see what happens.
I'm not so optimistic... Once the consequences happen, they will start to blame 'late stage capitalism' for being too overwhelming of a force for their correct progressive ideals to combat. At least that seems to be what has happened in SF. I hope I'm wrong.
