Can you define precisely what you mean by “the left”?

Chloe. I am *in* academia. That does not make me "correct" -- but radical left activism has overtaken vast stretches of the humanities and a good hunk of the social sciences. These data are from 15 yrs ago; its worse now:pic.twitter.com/Epa0V8pdtd

And I have a slew of *peer reviewed* & scholarly articles demonstrating how this leads to a slew of wildly unjustified claims promoted in the name of "Science" and "Peer reviewed scholarship!" DM me if you want specifics, but go here for your pick: https://sites.rutgers.edu/lee-jussim/selectpublications/ … eg:pic.twitter.com/3HlBPO48OZ

We edited an entire book on this problem, JUST in social psychology, and social psych is BY FAR not the worst.pic.twitter.com/ZGuRMFAcco

I regularly write exposes of this sort of nonsense, most recently, yesterday:https://twitter.com/PsychRabble/status/1322958168612392965 …

One last thing, Chloe. I disagree w/those who say "Therefore, one must vote for Trump, he is the only way to stop this." This article captures much of how I think about this (I disagree with Chris on this). https://areomagazine.com/2020/10/27/why-fourteen-critics-of-social-justice-think-you-shouldnt-vote-for-trump/ … I am not & have never been, a 1-issue voter.

But I agree with Chris completely on this, despite the risk of this overflowing to harm me if it is done in too ham-handed a manner. Academic freedom means that academics can say, write, advance anything they like. But it does not require the govt to fund it.

There are a great many reasons society seems to be fraying or falling apart. But one contributor has been the radical, divisive ideological rhetoric ascendant in academia. I know you know this -- you have tw'd on related points. They are the green band.pic.twitter.com/8xAk09wvHd

And, even when I agree with leftwing goals in principle or practice, those who do not have every right to tell their govt officials, "No, I do not want to fund activists working for things that oppose my values, beliefs, politics and morals." End.
