My feature documentary "America Lost" premieres tonight on PBS World! It's hard to get a conservative film on national public television and we had to fight off multiple attempts to cancel it. Grateful to my friends at PBS who stood up for this film! https://www.pbs.org/video/america-lost-promo/ …pic.twitter.com/LWgyGrQ4hH

It's been a journey for me with this film. When I first made the decision to engage politically, I had old funders refuse to return my calls and old friends refuse to work on the project. The documentary world is hyper-ideological—and I realized that I had to get out.

Two years ago, as I was finishing "America Lost," I wrote my first essay for
@CityJournal, which led to an incredible line of opportunities with conservative think tanks and publications. The documentary world closed its doors; the political world swung them wide open.3 replies 16 retweets 167 likesShow this thread -
I'm grateful for my decade in documentaries. I traveled to more than 70 countries, met incredible people, and directed four films that broadcast on PBS. But after tonight's broadcast, I'm retiring as a feature film director and focusing 100% on my work as a political writer.

Replying to @realchrisrufo
Where can we watch it here? It's not on my PBS schedule in Chicago.
