Faculty and student discussions of racial and sexual inequality should be unencumbered on college campuses.
Faculty and students must be permitted to explore these concepts and competing theories without government interference.

This is consistent with FIRE's mission. It's a complex balancing, though, for me: FIRE's support of viewpoint diversity, on one hand (which I fully support); and, on the other, my distaste for CRT. Wherever there's a conflict, though, I will always support free speech.

The EO only prevents anti-diversity indoctrination sessions. It has nothing to do with open academic debate.

Being allowed to discuss this content freely in a university setting, especially in classrooms, is guaranteed by academic freedom. Our objective should be to get it out of administration and human resources.

Agree, and that's what the EO does.

Would
@TheFIREorg support training based around the theory of racial supremacy and the need to keep races separated? That’s the litmus test for speech here. When a public institution advocates for ideological training, when does speech cross into targeted discrimination? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I agree this is a strange tweet - not even related to the content of the blog post.
