This man runs a $13 billion philanthropy at the height of influence and prestige—and yet, he cannot deviate from the accepted language of wokeness. When we fear something so trivial, how can we possible think creatively and independently on much deeper issues?

I assume he's accountable to some governing board which is in turn accountable to nobody, and therefore ripe for co-optation by a faction with an agenda (such as "wokeness"). Delve into any similarly co-opted organization, and you'll find a similar failure of accountability.
When you cower to a bully it only makes them stronger. They thrive on this.
Intentions do not get any consideration with wokesters. This is why they CANNOT be given power or moral authority.
