I've been doing a lot of interviews and have tried to generate *one new idea* in each of them. As a politician, you have to follow the text. As a writer, you have the imagine the new text. I judge an interview successful if I'm surprised by something that comes out of my mouth.

True, but an artist has to take risks. Failure is part of the process.
