Here’s the other thing—all of these pieces are approaching Cuties as an isolated case, as if we’re not in the middle of a cultural explosion of the hypersexualing of children. One Netflix movie wouldn’t generate this kind of response otherwise.
It's almost like Reason is seeking the ratio to be edgy and contrarian. (Also libertarians have an unhealthy obsession with age of consent laws.)

Nobody cares about your basic perversions and fetishes anymore—consenting adults, etc. But they’re always pushing this particular boundary.

Yeah it’s mission creep. For the most part, libertarians won. Drug use, gay marriage, porn, hook up culture. All of that is the norm. But it’s not like they can just go home, gotta some up with something new. (They don’t realize how the backlash will undo other work.)

Learn to differentiate between Libertarians (the Party, publishers of Reason) and libertarians (the people) who just want to be left alone to live their lives w/o incessant government interference. We (people) have no objection to age of consent laws.

Chris, I agree with you on Reason & I share concerns about libertarians in general. Have you or associated groups produced a readable or convincing "what to watch for" distinctions about libertarians? There is a segment of them in which many agree with, but concerns too...

I wish libertarians understood is that the virtuous reason (pun intended) for our consent laws to be later (16) than other cultures (8, 12, 15) is that Americans could not tolerate so many young, teenage girls dying during childbirth. We're stronger via protecting our youth.
