I'm uncomfortable with the influence of "critical race theory" in so many facets of our lives now, but there is nothing good that can come out of Trump's cynical exploitation of this catchphrase as an election season bogeyman.

To the extent Trump or his supporters even understand it they oppose it because they are white supremacists.

Regardless, he is going to leverage this for political gain. It would be in his best interest for reelection. It happens, in my view, to be an important cause.

I hope so as I've seen that so many times when Trump has gotten involved in something he throws in a spanner that doesn't allow moving forward or resolution + extreme politicization. How do we move beyond the usual impasses?
