My favorite part about diversity trainers reducing all Europeans to the racial essence of "whiteness": My father, born and raised in Italy, would be insulted to be lumped in with the French, English, and Germans—especially the Germans. It would be an affront to his Italianness.

My dad was routinely beaten by other European Americans in Brooklyn when he was a kid b/c he was Poliish. And yet both of my grandparents were at Normandy(Irish and Polish). And I thank them both and everyone else that fought on our side that we aren't speaking German right now.

African Blacks would be similarly mystified by American Blacks lumping them altogether. African Blacks view themselves as extremely ethnically diverse. Sadly, that is the foundation of tribal competition, warfare, and genocide.
