Don't think Robert is implying that. If anything, I think he is humbly suggesting the opposite might be true, even for himself.

Don’t you think leading opponents of PC/cancel culture think of themselves as standing up for unpopular victims, going against influential individuals and institutions, being called nasty names, standing up for a cause that is unpopular in elite sectors of our culture, etc.?

Put another way: how does George’s opposition to elitist group think, cancel culture and so on *fail* to meet these standards that he set out for what it would take to be opposed to slavery?
