Culture comes from "cultivating the soil." Would be interesting to see if it can be established in reverse order.
If history is an indication, process from soil to culture is dissipative and so not reversible. Technology creates extrinsic ”support” to extend time of civilization despite its atrophy into decadence, but ultimately accelerates that condition as a result. So tech exacerbates.
A more fruitful question may be to ask why the kloroi farm is a necessary precursor, and can there be a contemporary equivalent. My speculation is the small farm forced a culture to align its souls and habits to the order imposed by the soil - conformance to inflexible nature.
