I saw an overdose death in the Tenderloin tonight. The fire department came and tried to revive the man, but it was too late. They zipped him up in a yellow bodybag and hauled him away. It happened in a city-sanctioned tent encampment. People on the street barely noticed.
There's always the question of when you should stop filming, but I asked my camerman to keep rolling. I'll be including the footage in my upcoming documentary. Someone has to show the truth of life in the West Coast's homeless containment zones.

I'm so sorry. Witnessing death--whether you know the person or not--can be terribly traumatic. Though others may not have noticed, YOU did. That counts for something.
I don't use the word hate very often, but I hate drugs and what it does to people and those who love them. We need a better way to deal with drugs.
They died doing what they loved.
They are noticed! We have to watch and clean up after the homeless defecating in front of our businesses. It is so sad for anyone to lose their life. I just find your statement to be untrue. The city gov may not notice but the residents of SF notice!
This is very sad. I am moving out of San Francisco but the visions of human suffering will never leave me.
