      Yes - I get that. I actually studied classical liberal philosophy in college so am pretty familiar with it. But having grown up a hardcore Dem in SF I feel undereducated on more modern centrist/right/conservative POVs.

      @michelletandler, you could pick up some books by Thomas Sowell, the foremost black conservative intellectual of the past 50 years. He's also got some amazing old videos on YouTube. He's been dealing with many of the "current" issues for years.
