Like, police getting IED'd on American streets would (and should) be a big news story. It's just that people who read your article might walk away with the impression that's what happened, and I know you wouldn't want to mis-inform your audience.
Hold up, you're telling me that two SPD officers told you that they were attacked with IED's, yet SPD hasn't even put out a statement acknowledging an IED attack on its own force? You've either uncovered a massive cover-up, don't vet your sources, or are calling a candle an IED.
Chris! We were having a good discussion! If SPD was attacked with IED's that's a huge deal! Have the SPD officers you spoke to contacted Homeland Security? If you have non-public information that IED's were planted in the city you have a responsibility to let Seattlites know!

There's your error right there. The corrupt police officers will say anything to save their asses. They were the ones with armored suits and weapons. They came looking for a fight and when there wasn't one, they just started spraying tear gas and hitting people with their sticks
