The #SeattleAutonomousZone is devolving into warlordism.
Rapper Raz Simone, who has been patrolling the barricades with an AK-47 and a handgun, has begun assaulting residents who disobey him.

When I search Google News for 'seattle police department improvised explosive device', your article is the first result. The only other relevant result is an article making fun of SPD for calling a candle an IED.

Like, police getting IED'd on American streets would (and should) be a big news story. It's just that people who read your article might walk away with the impression that's what happened, and I know you wouldn't want to mis-inform your audience.

It was M80 fireworks supposedly.

No. If it had been firecrackers Chris would have written that in his article. The only reason to call firecrackers 'IED's is if you're intentionally trying to mislead people. Me and my dumb friends didn't throw IED's at each other when we were 16.
