Suddenly, Public Health Officials Say Social Justice Matters More Than Social Distance. The inconsistency here is unsound from an infectious disease point of view, and very damaging to field of public health. (FWIW, recent protests in HK were done well.)https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/06/04/public-health-protests-301534 …

Though perhaps the inconsistency vanishes when viewed through a broader public health lens? There's a profound distinction between the 2 movements with relation to public health. 1 concerns individual freedom; the other the health of an entire population.https://slate.com/technology/2020/06/protests-coronavirus-pandemic-public-health-racism.html?fbclid=IwAR1HJ_D9bScQztp08HjG6cGLHZuaM_dBUkeLYjr7TG8_N5_bJ0uURVUFCJk …

See other comments in this thread. To the extent R-wing protesters were arguing for 're-opening the economy,' their argument was against impoverishing impact of 'lockdowns.' And poverty is the biggest killer of all -- surely a public healthy problem. It's best to be consistent.
