1. Many people have asked me whether the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests around the country pose a risk of increasing coronavirus spread. As a scientist, I acknowledge that they may. As a citizen, I wholeheartedly support the protests nonetheless.

risking your life to stop systemic corruption that has killed millions, and will keep killing long after this virus goes away if not stopped, is WHOLE lot different then risking it so people can get haircuts and increase corporate profits.

And there it is: willful misinterpretation, bent to fit a non-existent scenario, to prop up whatever “conservative” bullshit narrative is flavor of the day.

Some things are important 4 the risk. Getting your hair cut, your nails done, & lunch at is not important. Protesting systemic racism that leads to murder is. & let's not pretend you care about them or science just look at your willful misunderstanding of this thread.

I agree some things are worth the risk, but let the people decide what they want to do. If they want to jump off a bridge, let them. If they want to stay home, let them.

Pretty sure it was the cops who shattered public trust first, by terrorizing the people they supposedly protect and serve. Both COVID-19 and police brutality are more deadly for Black people, but they are out there anyway because even in a pandemic, police are the greater threat.
