      I don't buy that the left wants to abolish the police but would like to rather reconstitute it...only to end up with the same unionized state enforcement service eventually and never having addressed the fundamental flaw, monopolization...

      No there is an "abolish the police" movement. https://www.motherjones.com/crime-justice/2020/06/police-abolition-george-floyd/ … It's larger than the catholic integralist movement, at least among intellectuals.
