In the PBS documentary on Clarence Thomas, he mentions that he had a couple of Claremont mentors - including John Marini, author of one of the books in the stack - when he was forming his constitutional views.

I didn't watch, but I know about Marini's influence on his views of the "administrative state." I'm sure the fellowship is a very effective method of converting people to the Way, the Truth, and the Light.

Marini is tops. You should read it. It's a reflection on 40+ years of scholarship on the question of the administrative state, historicism, and social science. The best book I read the past few years, hands down.
