We haven't had anything remotely resembling "free market fundamentalism" (unfortunately). The government has been massively interventionist.
Agreed, Mark. Which makes the opposition to new thinking especially silly. We have a heavy state apparatus that is not going away in the near term. The question is: towards what ends should we orient it?

We should orient it to protecting our rights, especially property rights, which are under assault right now. Unfortunately, the political winds are oriented toward infringing on our rights more and more.
