...So many of them believed them instantly and throughout, despite the lack of corroboration and the weight of evidence to the contrary. Why? Because of prejudices. Prejudices about pro-life, conservative Catholics. Prejudices about prep school boys....

... Having these prejudices is natural. As journalists it is our overarching responsibility to get beyond those prejudices. Most of our media failed at that, totally.

The stereotypes of Catholic prep boys is just the method; the motivation is naked partisanship. They'll use any angle that presents itself.
