By "we", I mean the United States. That's what the War on Drugs is. SF certainly has more progressive views on drugs that most places in the US, but definitely not the world. For example, Portugal's legalization of drugs was correlated with improved public health outcomes
Yeah, but if you read deeper than the headlines, Portugal also cracked down on dealers and open-air drug markets. They had a "carrot and stick" approach. SF is all carrot.
