And yet crime is down 50% since the shelter in place. This is strong evidence that rapid decarceration right now does not cause the spike in crime so many feared. It's amazing that when you direct the police department to stop almost all misdemeanor arrests, the "crime rate" drops.

1. This data is incident rate, not arrest rate. 2. Who is directing the police to stop making misdemeanor arrests besides activists? At most, people in authority are requesting cite and release.
