Overly woke, coastal elite, liberal arts college grads who work in journalism look at Biden calling someone a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” and they guffaw, think of it as a gaffe. Ordinary voters, Real Americans, look at it and think, “That’s how *we* talk. Biden gets us.”
Right that Biden connects with middle Americans, but not sure "lyin' dog-faced pony solider" is in anyone's vocabulary.
