A surprising side-note to me of the Coronavirus outbreak: there exists a city on this planet with a population which exceeds NYC and Chicago combined, and I’m only hearing its name for the first time this week. #Wuhan

I went to Chongqing ten years ago—pop. 34 million—and it was insane. You can drive on the freeway for an hour and see nonstop skyscrapers around you. Nobody has ever heard of it.
The next time I went to New York, taking the metro in from the airport and seeing the skyline, I thought: "What a quaint little town."
