This illegal "occupation" of private property drew wide support from progressive politicians in the Bay Area. The Oakland City Council president even demanded that the property owners provide the housing to the women and threatened "seizure of property" if they did not comply. /2
This morning, the sheriff finally evicted the women, but the lesson is clear: progressive political leaders are preparing to seize private property in the name of "social justice." Landlords beware. /3
