I invite the international writers’ rights organization @PENamerica to stand with the 1000s of freelance writers who are losing their livelihoods in California due to #AB5 — and with the tens of thousands threatened by similar legislation pending across the US
I wonder. Many of the cultural/profeseional orgs have been so steeped in progressive ideology, not sure they will stand up to "their team," even with their own interests at stake.

I've been so impressed by my left and right-leaning colleagues. there is definitely a focus on the critical task at hand, and much bonding. at the risk of sounding gushy, it's been a beautiful experience.
