      It is being said Beyoncé Black St James volunteered her time in opposition 2 the “don’t spend my tax dollars on that” crowd. I just want 2 say I hope she was paid. Artists deserve 2 b paid 4 their work; even if u don’t like it. Spend my tax dollars on artists & Black trans womxn.

      You're right, she does absolutely deserve to be paid for her work. That being said, I believe a lot of the controversy could have been avoided if the organizers had just politely requested that she deliver a PG-13 rated performance given the nature of the event.
