I mostly see it as an excuse for folks to center the conversation around their pet issues or to shoe-horn Kamala Harris' lack of popular appeal into an oversimplistic theory about human nature, social structures, or cultural processes.
It's actually quite fun to watch the Olympics-caliber mental gymnastics required to rationalize voter preferences into an identity politics framework. As it turns out, power is the key; identity is only the rationalization, when applicable.
