HB 1591 is deeply cynical, fatalistic, and antithetical to our basic democratic regime. It's bad for our neighborhoods, but more importantly, it's bad for the most vulnerable. We must work to get people off the streets, not let them suffer in our public spaces. #waleg

After my visit to Seattle recently I’m pretty sure this is already legal or at least not enforced

They want to spread the Seattle experience to the rest of the state. No longer can we just avoid crazy dirty Seattle; our entire state will have these problems. Next up will be statewide roving heroin injection vans.

Why aren’t we looking at NYC or SF for lessons already learned? Do people not buy “broken windows” theory? And do you know where WA/Seattle stands on a program like “care, not cash”?
