False. In the 2018 PIT survey, there were 37,000 homeless veterans and a total homeless population of 553,000. So, roughly 6.8%, not even close to 33%. Facts matter.

Those statistics are very old, pre-2010. The US has done a good job in reducing veteran homelessness. It's now down to 6.8%.

Yes, you're right, there's a high proportion of overlap/comorbidity—there is a lot of "self-medication" happening in this population.
