When Ron DeSantis vetoed every map except his own, there was a full blown media campaign to convince people that DeSantis’s map was a huge victory for FL & would result in a massive “red wave”. IT WAS ALL PROPAGANDA to cover up the fact that we have ERIC & mail in ballot fraud.”

LOL this is honestly one of the most nonsensical things I have ever read, yet she is so sure she is right. County lines do not get “REDISTRICTED” 🤣 Dunning-Kruger Effect in action #FlaPol

Ron DeSantis didn’t “turn” Miami or Palm Beach red. The state was REDISTRICTED to create the illusion. DeSantis threatened to veto all maps except the one he created w/ his minions so he could help pro-Ron incumbents. He created a map to favor his own Allie$, & hurt Trump’s. twitter.com/KickboxerEsq/s…

To be clear, this is not a post defending McDaniel, who has a whole litany of issues and may very well deserve to go. But these grifty posts making it sound like something got done so a horde of supporters can rally and cheer is getting old. The vote today did absolutely nothing.

Wow, that sounds like quite a success! But to put it another way: So few people supported this that there weren't enough people at the meeting for the vote to even count. So nothing happened. The vote was meaningless. Some caps and exclamation points don't change that. #FlaPol

New: I spoke with each of Miami-Dade's 13 county commissions about which issues they'll prioritize this year, how they'll approach those issues, what legislation they have in the works and whom they hope to enlist in their effort. Here's what they said.

Skipping the obvious political battle here, what shouldn’t be lost on anyone is the Twitter war being fought between Michael 'Meathead' Stivic and Beauregard "Bo" Duke. It’s the ultimate 80’s TV actor debate.

Republicans stand for nothing. The next two years will waste taxpayer money on ridiculous committee hearings. We have to make sure we have at least one Katie Porter on each committee to call them out on their bullshit.

“Because it took this long, now we’ve learned how to govern,” Kevin McCarthy said. Asked why he was so confident he has the votes, he said: "Because I count.” Seven hours later, McCarthy fails for the 14th time. The clerk has a familiar refrain: “A speaker has not been elected”

This evening continues being framed as a make or break moment in the Speaker’s race

🚨 NEWS: HOUSE REPUBLICANS pushing to elect a speaker tonight, per sources involved in the talks DEAL IS CUT -- either it moves people, or McCarthy is in serious trouble LAWMAKERS reviewing. House could recess to allow discussion punchbowl.news/archive/1523-p
Now to play the game of deciding whether this is A) true or B) a ploy by the camp to project strength after the GOP rebels fracture and make two separate nominations for the first time

Representative Patrick McHenry, a key emissary for McCarthy in talks with his conservative detractors, left closed-door talks late Thursday afternoon declaring "I think we'll get there," in a deal to secure McCarthy's bid for speaker. "I can at least see the end." 1/2

This week (month?) is shaping up to be the greatest drama of the 21st century

House GOPer tells me there was talk of a fellow McCarthy-supporter nominating @SteveScalise to be Speaker tonight, which is one of the reasons @GOPLeader McCarthy called for immediate vote to adjourn until noon Thursday
Earlier, Kevin McCarthy railed against other Republicans for “only looking for positions for themselves” & claimed “we’re not empowering certain members over others” Now that he lost his 2nd speaker vote, to what degree is he guilty of his own accusations if he doesn’t quit?

The right decision. Amid all the gambling and fantasy teams and rooting against your most hated rivals, these players are, above all, human. Let them be human and process what happened tonight.
