In a second study, we find that fluctuations in the prefrontal LFP signal precede changes in conscious perception.

Beautiful, simple and elegant. Lateral PFC reflects and predicts conscious content in the absence of motor reports. Also, a clear example of why we should be careful about the interpretation of fMRI results (as well as why we need more single neuron work)

VERY important paper from Logothetis' group just posted on about decoding consciousness in PFC in monkeys during a no-report paradigm. VERY critical data for current debates in awareness.

Congratulations @LFedericoRossi1. His new paper reveals how a V1 neuron derives its selectivity from excitatory and inhibitory presynaptic ensembles. Reveals a novel intracortical circuit for direction selectivity.

Does the EEG truly reflect consciousness? Dinesh Pal, Duan Li, and Ph.D. students from UM Anesthesiology's Center for Consciousness Science dissociate levels of consciousness and EEG measures in a provocative Journal of Neuroscience article (in press):

Brains are amazing. Our lab demonstrates that single human layer 2/3 neurons can compute the XOR operation. Never seen before in any neuron in any other species. Out now in . Congrats Albert, Tim  & CO

1/n Motor cortex controls the arm by sending neural activity patterns to the spinal cord and brainstem. But how are these patterns generated? We study this question in our new paper in , with J-Z Guo, J Cohen, M Mischiati, , et al.
