Only if one assumes that the space it is exploring is not very complex, which is unlikely to be the case.
Lol. Capital is the complexity that goes bump in the night.
What evidence is there that this is the case though (other than the potential AI breakthrough which still hasn't happened)?
Capital is just another name for intelligence. It is already an AI after a sort.
I both agree and disagree here. It certainly is a form of intelligence -- but I believe it is amoeba-like in many aspects. It senses things that are really up-close, but it can't really plan and execute complex moves.
I think you have this the wrong way around. It's goal is survival and self-evolution. Complexity is what it through itself into to come out the other side. And once again into complexity, etc. That it does this blind, in the short term, doesn't mean that it doesn't have a plan.
Capital doesn't have goals the way biological species don't really have goals. Certainly, evolution is not a goal of a species -- if anything, species would rather remain the way they are, but I can't even say that much because talking about goals at that level is absurd.
Like a river, with inertia meandering it's way to the open ocean
That's a good analogy actually, and rivers frequently do find the ocean -- but rivers operate in a 3-D space where finding direction of descent is much easier than in, say 55-D space. IOW, one would expect many more lakes in a complex space.
