Anyone have a source or three critiquing the concept of criminal profiling?

Perhaps there's no scientific basis for it but the results justify it?
You could say the same about psychics who say "The body is near water." I also wonder how successful it is outside of Hollywood. I would guess we hear a lot more about successes than failures.

I like how Fox Mulder in the X-Files begins as a profiler. Always been in the somewhat irrational side of enquiry. Have you seen the episode "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose"?

Probably. I think I watched most if not all the x files, unless it was about aliens. Might have skipped the alien episodes after awhile.
