Funniest thing about the article is that it is on antihumanism but still treats humanism as such an obvious good that it needs no defense.

I think 'awful' is an overstatement. Cruddas makes all the facile conflations between transhumanism and anti/posthumanism, but he's hardly alone there, and it's at least informed and engaged.

Not sure how engaged it is. Its not at all clear that he has actually read the material he is talking about. Look at his discussion of the 'plane of immanence", for example. More likely he was presented these ideas at a dinner party and was outraged.

Yeah, Cruddas conflates the virtual and the actual and is really talking about assemblage theory, but I'm not sure that matters here. It does matter that he's criminally vague about what humanism is supposed to amount to.
