People say analytic philosophy is pointless, but where else are you going to read a sentence like this? “I could not, in any possible world, have been an emperor of China in 1500, or an arctic explorer in 1873. That would not have been me. Nor could I have been an alligator.”

I feel like poetry and analytic philosophy are two teenaged sisters going through a phase where they deny at any opportunity that they look even remotely alike, and she's stupid anyway and mom likes her better its not fair

Supposedly, when the philosophers of the Vienna Circle went to see Wittgenstein (upon his return) he told them they had misunderstood the Tractatus and would scream poetry at them. So you aren't too far off.
