It is a remarkably stupid thread. At a very basic level, children are not equals to adults. Their brain development prevents them from understanding many of the complexities (eg cause and effect) needed to fully function in the world.

If you remove the 'radical politics' sheen this thread is no different from the advice of the upper middle class 'hippies' who say they want to their children to find their 'true selves' when all it really produces are narcissistic brats.
