It was a life goal of mine to have tea with Ursula K Le Guin (and Iain Banks) and now I'll never have either opportunity. That sucks. But I did get to talk with her years ago and I continue to feel deeply and violently emotionally betrayed by her public activism in defense of IP.
I imagine they are also sad that they missed out on the chance to respond to your demands that they defend every choice that they made that your morality disagreed with.
