It may have been but we are 25 to 30 years on now (if you track it's origin from Houston's DJ Screw and slowed down remixes). We are witnessing the reterritorialization of the form. It is unlikely that you ever listened to it while it was a radical form.

As you have missed the point, let me put it slight differently. Claiming that trap music is 'deterritorial' in 2018 is roughly equivalent to claiming that Blink 182 was radical in 1999 because punk.
The joke was Blink 182 is decidedly not punk. What shocked that you missed it.

This gets to my point earlier ( you probably misunderstood as you struggle with the reading comprehension), people who think of themselves as radicals confuse their aesthetic tastes for actual radicality. BEP (a shit group by any measure) ≠ rap bc rap=deterritoriality....
