I would careful not to confuse your taste with innovation. One of the problems with trying to think aesthetics is that we confuse what we like for what is actually new. This could just as easily be explained by a lack of knowledge of the Houston rap scene 20 years ago.

I don't care about innovation at all. I am not Mark Fisher. Trap is music to deterritorialize to.
That's fine but as it's all over the top 100 bc white people are listening to it and making it, let's not pretend it is deterritorializing anything.
