I have never read Charles Murray (I was told in grad school he was an odious cretin who need not be read); the irony is that now, as an adult, I cannot honestly say I find his work odious, even if it is. Finally, I must now be skeptical that he is so odious.

"Odious," okay (it's an emotional gesticulation word), but "cretin" is just -- cretinous. I get that the Cathedral has to preach against its political enemies, but does it have to be so unbelievably crass about it?
